CHRISTIAN EDUCATION |
![]() |
Christian education is not limited to a Christian school. Christian education must start in a Christian home, while the child is still in the cradle. This teaching must continue for the next 10 plus years. In view of eternity, each child needs to have a Christian father and a Christian mother and must be trained in a Christian home. A Christian school can help such parents in some of the training of the young person. The two words Christian and Education are often used in describing a process. To “educate” means to bring up. “Christian” means in the likeness of Christ. Christian education simply means to bring up a child in the likeness of Christ. Ephesians 6:4, “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the admonition of the Lord.”
Jesus grew in four ways. “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52). Christian education, therefore, seeks to develop young people in these four ways: spiritually, mentally, socially and physically. Christian education seeks to place Christ inside the heart and mind of an individual. “That Christ may dwell in your heart by faith” (Ephesians 3:17)…”so then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17. Christian schools will never take the place of a Christian home.
The world is on fire with sin. As Christians, we need to get on fire for Christ. We need to educate our children on Bible stories,, Bible facts and about Christian living.
