JUST ONE MISTAKE

Past/Future Articles

He brushed his teeth twice a day.  He went through the clinic twice a year.  He wore his overshoes when it rained.  He slept with the windows open.  He stuck to a diet of vegetables.  He golfed, but only nine holes at a time.  He got eight hours of sleep every night.  He never smoked, drank, or lost his temper.  He always rested all day Sunday.  He was all set to live to be a hundred.

He is survived by eighteen specialists, four health institutions, and a great host of health and body-building foods and antiseptics.  He made just one mistake.  HE FORGOT GOD!  He lived as if this world were all.  He is now with those who say, “The harvest is passed, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” (Jeremiah 8:20.

One of the greatest problems we face in this life is failing to choose the right priorities.  All generations testify to the fact that the majority have given all their time and energy to things that are temporary, and have neglected their souls.  Jesus saw this weakness during his short stay, and used many opportunities to warn the multitudes.  He said, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?”  (Mark 8:36-37).  Have you ever pondered this question? (b.b. bristow).
