As we travel life’s pathway there are many outside pressures and forces at work that influence and help to determine our destiny. However, God gave us the greater control of our lives in that He made us creatures of choice.
This spring we have many graduates who will be leaving the safety and security of home. Leaving Godly parents that have nurtured and cared for them – now to make their own way in the world. They will begin to stand totally on their own choices, drawing from the training of parents, teachers, and many who have influenced their lives thus far. To them we say:
You have grown into responsible adults, accountable to God for the decisions you will make. We would admonish you to choose wisely, using God’s Word as a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your pathway - - your constant road map. Standing on the truths of God, making Jesus Christ your Saviour and guidepost. If you do this, you will not be tossed to and fro with every wind. You will make your calling and election sure and live in peace and contentment in your soul. Teach others the way – that your life may be a sweet savor to all around you and that they might be drawn to Christ.
Above all else in life make the choice to SERVE GOD. Study the BOOK for it will keep you from sin. On the other hand, sin will keep you from the BOOK and eternal life.
Walter M. Bishop, Elder
