BIBLE BOWL 2000 10/01/00 Past/Future Articles |

We had a great Bible Bowl last year which marked our eleventh year anniversary with the Bible Bowl. Let us thank each of you for the part you played in helping us with this good work. This speaks well of the faith of the members of the congregation at East End. All of us should be ready unto every good work (Titus 3:14).
The Bible Bowl is an effort to educate our young people in the precious Word of God. We are proud of our young people and are grateful for their interest in spiritual things.
The Psalmist declared, “Lo children are an heritage of the Lord” (Psalm 127:3). We have a responsibility to help our youth. Why did the generation that followed Joshua not know God? Possibly because their parents failed to teach their children about God. Possibly because the children rebelled against the Word of God. “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath; but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).
Youth from the fifth grade through high school are being encouraged to participate in the Bible Bowl being hosted each month by a different congregation. The parents, teachers and interested members are asked to help them prepare. Jimmy Knowles has been one of our leaders in this good work for eleven years, and will work again this year. Jimmy Knowles and Larry Smith have been the backbone of our Bible Bowl team. Thanks!!
May God help each one of us to take seriously our role in teaching our youth. Please see Jimmy Knowles and tell him what you will do to help.
HOPE TO SEE YOU SUNDAY
