WHAT TIME IS IT? Past/Future Articles |

Scarcely a day goes by that we do not hear the question, “What time is it?” It seems that even without thinking, we are constantly relying on the element of time. From the time we begin the day in the morning until our bedtime at night, we sometimes subconsciously, schedule our events and appointments of the day by our clock.
While we are constantly pondering this question in our physical lives, we should also consider the same question in our spiritual lives.
Romans 13:11-14, the Apostle Paul said, “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lust thereof.”
II Cor. 6:2 “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: behold now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation.”
Eph. 5:15-16 “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise. Redeeming the time for the days are evil.”
In his letters to Timothy, Paul said, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine...II Tim. 4;3, and, “Now the spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils…” I Tim. 4:1.
So you see, it is important that we know “what time it is.”
