Past/Future Articles

The last Wednesday evening that Greg admonished us to move closer to the front, to make for better singing, I sat there thinking, “What if he were offering the first fifty who moved a million dollars?”  Just how many and how fast do you think we would have made the move?  I think we get the picture.

Just think “dear people” where are our hearts, our aims, our desires?  God tells us that where our treasure is there will our hearts be also (Matt. 6:21).  Jesus told the rich young ruler to sell what he had and give to the poor and he would have treasure in heaven (Matt. 19:21).  James tells us in 5:1-5 the fallibility of loving the riches of this world and the end thereof.

So the next time we are exhorted to do a good work in the service of the Lord whether it be help with the nursing home services or just move closer to the front, let us do so with a willing mind (II Cor. 8:11-12).  …“the fear of the Lord is his treasure”  (Isaiah 33:6).
