IS THE MAJORITY ALWAYS RIGHT?

Past/Future Articles

The phrase “the majority is usually right” is deceitfully wrong.  The majority is rarely right.  The lure of popular acclaim and the thrill of social acceptance have combined to give credit to that phrase.

Christians who follow God’s law, as he has instructed, are not in the majority.  We must study and search the scriptures to know what God wants us to be, and what he wants us to do.  We cannot listen to the majority, follow the crowd, or “go with the flow,” because that way leads to destruction (Matt. 7:13, 14).

We must hear and follow Jesus (Matt. 17:5; Acts 7:37).  Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life:  no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).  His followers are not in the majority, but they are in the right.
