THE TEN “P’S”

Past/Future Articles

PURE It is so important for us as Christians to keep our hearts PURE from evil.  “Blessed are the PURE in heart, for they shall see God.” (Matt. 5:8)  “PURE religion …” (James 1:27).

PRAY Remember to PRAY  daily. “PRAY without ceasing …” (I Thess. 5:17).  We read in James 5:16 that “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” “Finally brethren , PRAY for us …(II Thess.3:1).  If we would Pray as we have been commanded we would be surprised!

PLAN Make Plans to attend all services.  We need you and God expects you to be there.  God commands that when His Saints assemble, we are to be present. “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together …” (Heb. 10:25).

PUT List your priorities. PUT God number one on the list.  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness …(Matt. 6:33).  Put God’s will first in your life.

PLACES There are places we should not go.  There is enough evil in the world without going out and looking for it.  “Be not conformed to this world … (Rom. 12:2).

PATIENCE Patience is a Christian virtue needed by all.  Turn to the book of Job  and read about Job’s Patience.  We read about Moses’ patience in Exodus.  “Add to your faith … Patience …(II Peter 1:5, 6).  “You have need of patience …” (Heb. 10:36).  “We are to be patient until the Lord comes” (James 5:7).  We have to work hard to have patience.

PATH A path is a road that is traveled a lot – a course that is followed.  Use the Bible to get on the right Path.  “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my Path” (Psalm 119:105).  God’s word will  keep us on the right Path, if we will only use it.

PREPARE We should Prepare and be ready at all times to meet our God.  There are many good works for which we need to be Prepared to do when we are called on.  “…Prepare your hearts unto the Lord, and serve him only…” (I Sam. 7:3).

PERSUADE Invite people, encourage them, Persuade them to come and worship God, and hear His Word preached.  We must be soul winners for God. “Knowing therefore the terror (fear) of the Lord, we Persuade men…” (II Cor. 5:11).

PRAISE Praise God, Praise His name, we are all commanded to Praise “Jehovah”.  “Let us have grace whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and Godly fear (Heb. 12:28).  God’s name is very great – read Psalm 8.  “I will sing Praise to the Lord God …” (Judges 5;3).  Let us all come together and worship and Praise God as his family.
