MAN – THREE FOLD  (part 3)

Past/Future Articles

Parts 1 & 2 of “Man – Three Fold” can be found in Bulletins dated October 24 and November 21).

Now we come to the third and last part of man we will study, the spiritual.  This being is priceless for he is eternal and will live forever.  You are a living soul (Gen. 2:7) made in the likeness and image of God (Gen. 1:26, 27) with the power and ability to reason and make decisions, thereby casting the die of where and with whom you will live eternally.  On earth with our finite minds we know beginnings and endings, however, in the “Land of Fadeless Day” where time will be no more there will be no end.  There is only one of two places our dwelling shall be in eternity.  Let us consider the preparation and destiny of each.

To enter the first place in eternity man needs no preparation. One can drift; roll, slide, hop, skip, jump, scoot, etc…right into torment.  One can be a thief, liar, whoremonger, murderer, busy body, gossiper or simply do nothing and walk right into hell.  One can be the most gracious, generous, morally good person the world has ever known, and be caught in Satan’s nest.  He has set a web for all of us and is just waiting for us to make the wrong move to pull us in.  If this should be your choice, then don’t be too concerned about anything.  As the world would say – live it up, do whatever floats your boat for you will have an eternity to grieve over the choices you made while on earth.  There is prepared for these souls a bottomless pit, where the worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched (Mark 9:48) - where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth with never any peace or rest (Matt. 13:42) – a place that burns with fire and brimstone eternally.  The pain and suffering endured will be magnified as one witnesses the distress and agony of those he could have influenced (not to come to this wretched place called hell) – and didn’t.  When one has been there ten million years they will only have just begun (Rev. 21:8).
