From the Elder's Pen FOR HELP IN TEMPTATION Past/Future Articles

 
“And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen” (Matthew 6:13).

Our Saviour has promised to shield us from temptation greater than our power to withstand, and to provide with every temptation a way of escape.  Christ said in Revelation 3;10, “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will also keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”  When temptation seems greater than we can bear, just turn to the Lord.  He is the Light for our dark paths.  Our Saviour said “Watch and Pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41).  The Lord has graciously strengthened us and our fellow Christians in His word and in faith against temptation to the end.
