"When Coming To Worship"

Past/Future Articles

When we come to worship God, there are some things that we should bring along, and there are some things that we should leave at home.

We should bring along (John 4:24):

? A cheerful disposition.  Worship will be joyful.  A pleasant smile.  Others will be encouraged.

? An open mind, ready to learn.

? An honest heart.  We can worship with a clear conscience.

? An humble and contrite spirit.  Worship will be more acceptable to God.

? A rested body.  Tired bodies often cause one to drop off to sleep.  One does not worship while asleep.

We should leave at home (I Corinthians 11:24-29):

? All home and business problems and worries.

? The plans for the week.

? Thoughts and plans about the vacation.

? All envy, malice, ill will and insincerity.
