"Live For Jesus" 6/22/03 Past/Future Articles |

The great old song exhorts, “Live for Jesus, O my brother, His disciple ever be….” That’s what Christians are about – living for Jesus! Paul wrote, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Phil. 1:21).
The following poem reminds us of the awesome privilege and solemn responsibility of living for Jesus:
Christ has no hands but our hands
To do His work today;
He has no feet but our feet
To lead men in His way;
He has no tongue but our tongues
To tell men how He died;
He has no help but our help
To bring men to His side.
We are the only Bible
The careless world will read;
We are the sinner’s Gospel,
We are the scoffer’s creed;
We are the Lord’s last message
Written in deed and word –
What if the line is crooked?
What if the type is blurred?
What if our hands are busy
With other work than His?
What if our feet are walking
Where sin’s allurement is?
What if our tongues are speaking
Of things His lips would spurn?
How can we hope to help Him
Unless from Him we learn?
Seems impossible? Can’t live your whole life for Christ? You don’t have to! Just live today for Christ! Dedicate your hands, your feet, your tongue, to life to serving the Master today!
