In Hebrews
10:30 Paul said, “...vengeance belongeth to me, I will recompense saith
the Lord…” God will see to it that in this life, and in the
life to come, that we will get back what we have put into life.
For our first consideration think of the fact that
we will reap exactly what we have been sowing! Galatians
6:7-8, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth,
that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to the flesh, shall of
the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the
Spirit reap life everlasting.” Everyone is sowing something and everyone
will reap the consequences, if in this life their interests have been primarily
fleshly in nature!
Secondly, we will receive exactly as we have given.
In II
Corinthians 9:6 Paul said, “But I say unto you, he that soweth sparingly
shall also reap sparingly, and he that soweth bountifully shall also reap
bountifully.” You never truly possess anything in this life until
you use it for others! You can only lose what you have by hoarding
it up for yourselves.
Thirdly, you will be judged exactly as you have
judged others. Jesus in Matthew
7:1-2 said, “Judge not that ye be not judged, for with what judgement
ye judge, ye shall be judged, and with what measure ye mete, it shall be
measured unto you again.” Jesus also said, “Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.” (Matthew
5:7). James
2:13 warns, “For he shall have judgement without mercy, that hath showed
no mercy…”
Finally, Christ will treat us one day, exactly
as we have treated Him in this life. In Matthew
10:32 Jesus said, “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men,
him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.” In
the next verse Christ says, “But whosoever shall deny me before men, him
will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.”
Someday you will stand before the great paymaster
to receive from the storehouse of heaven what you have put into it in this
life. What will you receive?
