"When The Lord's Supper Is Passed"

Past/Future Articles

Each Sunday morning when the Lord’s Supper is passed my way,
I see God’s only Son who shed His blood
 for me that day.
I see Him standing before Pilate all alone with no one to defend;
He knew that He must die upon the cross for all of man kind’s sin.
I see the mob of people as they shout
“Crucify this man.”
And I see Jesus trying to carry the cross
so heavy that He cannot stand.
I hear them all cry “Kill Him?”  as He
walks in the dusty street.
They do not know He will be their judge
when on the judgment day they meet.
I see Him dying for sinners like me and you;
And I hear Him say “Forgive them, Father,
for they know not what they do.”
I see the tomb where they laid Him and
the stone has been rolled away.
So, every Sunday morning when the Lord’s
Supper is passed your way,
Give thanks up to God in heaven for letting
His Son die that day.
