Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve. And as they did eat, he said, "Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me." And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began everyone of them to say unto him, "Lord, is it I?" (Matthew 26:20-22). No doubt, the disciples could not understand his suffering and did not suspect that he would be delivered up by one of their number. They were surprised when Jesus made the announcement " that one of you shall betray me."
As we consider our relationship to Jesus Christ, we too, must ask the question, "Is it I?"

my life? I
John 3:4,8.
Is it I who lusts after the pleasures of the world?
Titus 2:12.
Is it I who places other gods before the Lord? I
Corinthians 8:5-6.
Is it I who is guilty of forsaking the assembling of the saints for
worship? Hebrews
10:25.
Is it I who is irreverent in worship? John
4:23-24.
Is it I who fails to discern the Lord's body in communion?
I Corinthians
11:29.
Is it I who fails to let my light shine to glorify God?
Matthew 5:16.
Matthew 26:24-25, Jesus said, "The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! It had been better for that man if he had not been born." Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, "Master, is it I?" He said unto him, "Thou hast said."
What a sobering statement!
